It was an incredible weekend of racing in Indiana, as Steel Wheels Indoor BMX hosted a big weekend of racing, with a Race for Life on Saturday, and what is said to be the largest Gold Cup Qualifier in series history (at 148 motos) on Sunday.
We spotted no-fewer than 10 state plates in the parking lot, and lots of grey plates on the track, as the whole of the region descended on Hobart, Indiana for the race.,
News was there, at our local track, for all the Gold Cup Action on Sunday, and came back with an epic photo set from the day. Check below for the link to the photo gallery….
Yes, it was VERY tight in the Steel Wheels building, for the 148-moto race. But, the crew ran the first round in one hour and seven minutes. That is better that most nationals (with all-respect to the national crew).
Gotta get the GoPro going from the “Skybox” at Steel Wheels. The turn three vantage point is the best seat in the house, and your best friend is the kid who’s got the steady arm to capture your main event lap.
Ethan Popovich is one of the local heroes here, known by all as clinic-runner, and Beginner League helper. Today, he showed up “pro” (yet 16x), for DK Bikes, lofting T-Shirts and passing-out stickers on the rail.
